banded over to the British Authorities, in Cotober, 1945, were of very poor quality, and I cannot see how the Dominican Fathers are in a position to claim much for these items.

An estimate obtained by the Dominican Fathers in Cctober 1945, for the white-washing of all rooms, for the repair of all damage to dours, windows and walls, and the re- placement of all breakage and structural items removed, amounted to Hg.# 35,000.- (shout £2,200.-.-), but this was at a time when very inflated ideas still prevailed.

It should be remembered that a good deal of damage ung done to the "Home" both before and after its occupati on under the Lense-igreement entered into with the Dominican Fathers by this Delegetion.

I am very anxious to have this matter settled to the satisfaction of all concerned, and I shall write to you again shortly.
